Reviews
I use this bag for most of my rides, lightly loaded with water so it doesn't get to heavy. I really like the new bladder and waist strap phone pocket. The phone is easy to access for photos, and it stays clean and dry there. What I really dislike is, Dakine eliminated the compartmented main pocket which is now unsupported also. All your shit just gets all mixed up in the bottom. That really sucks, and in the prior versions, that pocket worked really well.
Been wanting to try a hip/waist bag for awhile and i'm happy with the result. This was on sale so I took a chance, it exceeded my expectations. My only complaint is the waist strap is pretty snug for a fellow of my stature (6'3" 230 LBS. What can I say, I like my beer. Plenty of storage for anything I could need on my rides. I have yet to use the hydration bag (bladder) as I prefer my water bottles.
I think I just make it with my 36 inch waste otherwise I'd run out of strap. Pretty large bag that can fit all I need. My ebike has no mounts so this solves my H2O situation. I use the straps on the bottom exterior for my spare tube which is cool. It was on sale. Super cool. The resevoir doesnt have the quick release tube or on/off bite valve like the version one can find separately but thats minor. minus 1 star for that but since I got it on sale plus 1 star back. Happy and safe riding!
If your a bigger rider, waist bigger than 36 inches. Do not keep reading, this will not fit you.
Dakine should of sold extender or make the waist strap fit up to a 40 inch waist.
Pack quality is real nice, lots of lil spots to sneak in small tools you need. Front cell phone pouch just barely fits a iPhone 13. Water tube is just long enough to use while riding.
Return or get motivated to lose weight? Just very disappointed Dakine does not understand their customers.
This is my second bag. I love the first one. What I want to know is why did they change the reservoir tube so that it doesn't detach? It makes very difficult to fill the reservoir then put it in the pack. I would get another reservoir with a detachable hose but they cost more than the pack.
I use this bag while riding dual sport motorcycles. The water bladder is good for riding hard for a half day and even more. The great hip pads ensures the pack stays secure. Several itemized pockets to keep things organized.
Took this on a 96 mile ride and did not regret. There is room for bike tools and food. I did not use the hydration sack so had additional space for a bike lock and food. Did not even notice it was there when riding. Backpacks become uncomfortable for me after about 30-40 miles of riding so this was a welcome alternative. Like the zip pocket in the padded waist belt to store keys/wallet for easy accessibility. Purchased this on sale so the price was right as well. Anticipate using it frequently, including for bike touring in the future.
I use this for my 30 minute ride to work. It is so nice to have my tube, pump, levers, lunch, + hydration of choice, all with no back pack. Check this product out- the design features are many and well thought out. I really love it.
