This is my second pair of Castelli Men's Quindici Soft Merino Socks, and I couldn't recommend them more highly. They are soft and warm and work beautifully for all but the bitterest cold days. I have a lot of winter socks and these are far and away the most comfortable. People underestimate the importance of high quality footwear, and I am totally on the bandwagon for this sock.
I bought one pair of these and then went back and bought 3 more. Absolutely love them. They keep my feet warm and DRY which is key on cold days. They're obviously thicker than normal riding socks but not bulky so they'll still fit in your riding shoes as long as you have a little wiggle room to start with. With a warm pair of shoe covers, I'm good with regular road shoes down to 30 without any issues. They're so comfortable, I wear them when I'm not on the bike too.
These are just your Basic Medium Weight Wool socks. Warmer than you might expect, look sharp, wool so they don�t too stinky. A solid pair of socks, no surprises.
