Competizione Short
The Castelli Men's Competizione Short incorporates as much technology as possible from the top-of-the-line pro-level race shorts at a more accessible price. And although it's certainly capable of weekend racing, it's also a great comfort performance short even if you never pin on a number.
The main Vortex textured fabric and the Giro4 leg gripper come straight from the top Free Aero Race 4 Bibshort, while the KISS Air2 seat pad has most of the comfort of a top seat pad but represents the maximum value. The intangible part that you'll appreciate most is Castelli's knack for building in perfect fit at every price point.
This is the short that brings the best of Castelli's know-how in building comfort performance shorts into an accessible product in your cycling wardrobe.

Reviews
I now have 6 pairs of these shorts. I initially bought (3) 3XL, which is not an option at BTD. Since then I lost some weight and decided to purchase the 2XL as the 3XL felt a bit loose. Castelli runs small so make sure to upsize. The shorts are comfortable and well made for the price. The leg grippers feel fine to me, even though after slipping the shorts on I snap the grippers in place as the internal stripped gripper bands don't necessary lay perfectly flat immediately. The padding is also fine for me as I am a daily rider of usually 20 miles (solo) and occasionally 40 miles when riding with friends. Overall these are my favorite shorts as they fit my body well and you barely notice your wearing them. Since I ride every day I appreciate a good name brand short at a competitive price.
As the title says, I'm getting leg blisters because of the gripper, recommended only for short rides like for 1 or 2 hours of riding. Giving 2 stars for good quality fabric because if the fabric aint good I'm only giving 1 star.
Road cycling with rides averaging beyond three hours. Monthly mileage is always above 900 miles. Love the KISS Air2 seat pad. Even though it's not top of the line I like it better than the top of the line pad.
Good fabtic that holds up to hundreds of washes. They run a size small, so order up. The dados very good, not great. I use as a MTB liner on 40 mile rides and roads for 60-80 miles.a little sore, but ok.
Been using Castelli for years. One psir so old it is getting a bit thin but hasnt torn. The Competizione are nice. Wide band at leg opening so no gripper sicone that chafes. Size up one from normal.
Regarding sizing, Im 5-11 and 155 lbs, and tried both medium and large sizes. The medium was uncomfortably snug, so Im using a large, which is very comfortable, though maybe slightly large for me. But Im a casual rider and I dont like super tight shorts.
